Über das Festival
Das BOLSOM Festival ist der öffentliche Höhepunkt einer intensiven Vorbereitungszeit. Für einen Tag öffnet sich das MOS Guesthouse / Naturfreundehaus Brünig und verwandelt sich in eine Bühne für Konzerte, Lesungen, Performances, Ausstellungen und Diskussionen.
Besucher:innen erleben nicht einfach ein fertiges Programm, sondern werden Teil einer lebendigen Prozesslandschaft. Jede Ausgabe ist anders – geprägt von den Menschen, die in der Akademie zusammengearbeitet haben, und von der besonderen Energie des Ortes.
About the Festival
The BOLSOM Festival is the public highlight of an intense period of preparation. For one day, the MOS Guesthouse / Naturfreundehaus Brünig opens its doors and becomes a stage for concerts, readings, performances, exhibitions, and discussions.
Visitors don’t just experience a finished program – they step into a living landscape of processes. Each edition is unique, shaped by the people who worked together in the Academy and by the special energy of the place itself.

The Festival program grows directly out of the processes of the Academy. Concerts, readings, performances, and exhibitions offer glimpses into the diverse artistic explorations of the participants.
Each year is different – and that’s what defines BOLSOM: openness, surprise, and diversity. The program evolves with the people who are part of it, and it absorbs the atmosphere and landscape of the Brünig Pass.
Einladung fürs BOLSOM 2026
Fürs BOLSOM 2026 suchen wir acht Kunst- und Wissenschaffende, die als Einzelpersonen ins Projekt starten und im Verlauf des Jahres ein interdisziplinäres Duo bilden. Gemeinsam entsteht ein neues Werk, das am BOLSOM Festival am 21.11.2026 präsentiert wird.
Die Akademie umfasst ein freiwilliges Arbeitsangebot kurz vor dem Festival: Ein Aufenthalt am Brünigpass, bei dem Duo-Partner:innen kostenlos wohnen, arbeiten und ihre Präsentation finalisieren können. Die Dauer ist flexibel – von ein paar Tagen bis zu mehreren Wochen.
Gesucht werden Personen aus Kunst, Musik, Literatur, Design, Performance, Film, Theorie sowie Natur- und Geisteswissenschaften.
Wir bieten Raum, Austausch, kuratorische Begleitung und Sichtbarkeit.
Ziel: Ein gemeinsames Werk, das aus Forschung, Dialog und Experiment entsteht.

Invitation for BOLSOM 2026
For BOLSOM 2026, we invite eight artists and researchers who enter the project individually and, over the year, form interdisciplinary duos. Each duo develops a new collaborative work to be presented at the BOLSOM Festival on 21 November 2026.
The residency includes an optional working stay shortly before the festival: Participants may stay at the Brünig Pass free of charge to refine and finalize their work. The length of stay is flexible — from a few days to several weeks.
We welcome practitioners from the arts, design, music, literature, performance, film, theory, and the natural & human sciences.
We offer space, community, curatorial support, and visibility.
Goal: A collaborative work emerging from research, dialogue, and experimentation.

BOLSOM ist ein Projekt von Middle of Switzerland / LOB Lili ond Bujar. Seit 2022 bauen wir am Brünig eine Plattform für interdisziplinäre Begegnungen auf. Unser Ziel ist es, Kunst und Wissenschaft nicht getrennt, sondern in Resonanz miteinander zu denken.
Wir glauben an die Kraft von Orten: Der Brünigpass, mit seinen Wäldern, Nebeln und Übergängen, prägt das Festival ebenso wie die Menschen, die hier arbeiten. Unterstützt wird BOLSOM von Partner:innen und Förderinstitutionen, die Kultur in der Mitte der Schweiz sichtbar machen wollen.
BOLSOM is a project by Middle of Switzerland / LOB Lili ond Bujar. Since 2022, we have been building a platform for interdisciplinary encounters at the Brünig. Our aim is to think of art and science not as separate domains, but in resonance with one another.
We believe in the power of place: the Brünig Pass, with its forests, mists, and transitions, shapes the Festival just as much as the people who work here. BOLSOM is supported by partners and foundations that want to make culture visible in the heart of Switzerland.
MOS Verlag
Der MOS Verlag ist das verlegerische Rückgrat von BOLSOM. Wir verstehen Publizieren nicht nur als das Herausgeben von Büchern, sondern als eine Haltung: Inhalte sichtbar machen, Stimmen verstärken, Resonanzen schaffen.
MOS Verlag steht für Offenheit, Experiment und Vielstimmigkeit. Wir veröffentlichen, was sich querstellt und gleichzeitig verbindet: Texte, Bilder, Klänge, Prozesse. Dabei interessiert uns weniger das Endprodukt als die Bewegung, die es auslöst.
Im Zusammenspiel mit dem Festival und der Akademie trägt MOS Verlag die Idee weiter – in Publikationen, die über den Brünig hinaus wirken.
