SOVA – Improvisationen an Schlagzeug und Klavier, zwischen Vater und Sohn

SOVA – Improvisations on drums and piano, between father and son

Evolution includes free improvisation.
In this case, it can be heard between two generations.
Not just any constellation, but father and son.
At least one piano and one drum set are available for that.

Ping-Pong aus dem Mittelfeld – Illustrierte Räume von Daniela P. Meier und Adrian Gander

Ping-Pong from the Middle Field – Illustrated spaces by Daniela P. Meier and Adrian Gander

Zwei Handschriften. Zwei Temperamente.

Two handwritings. Two temperaments. One game. Daniela P. Meier and Adrian Gander have been meeting for some time in a quiet, drawing-based ping-pong: a sheet travels back and forth — added to, painted over, shifted, disturbed — then sent back again. An ongoing conversation on paper, without words. A free play between control and letting go.

Until now, this exchange happened across distance — in the rhythm of everyday life, between Kriens and Stans, between surprise and momentum. For BOLSOM, they bring their project to a shared space for the first time: From 7 to 9 November 2025, they will work together on the Brünig — in the same room, in the same moment. What was once separated by time and space now collides directly. Reactions arise in real time, transitions are made together, boundaries blur. In between: reflection. How does proximity change the game? Does it need rules — or should it remain open ground? And how will it continue once Daniela is travelling again — by post, digitally, elsewhere?

At the halfway point, an exhibition will take shape at the site itself — raw, open, perhaps unfinished. It will be shown during the BOLSOM Festiva on 22 November 2025. On 23 November, the game ends — or begins anew.

A project about trust, friction, and resonance. About how two lines can find one shared movement.

Kreis der Waldmenschen – Super 16mm – 4 Minuten – Experimenteller Kurzfilm

The Circle of the Forest Folk – Super 16mm – 4 minutes – Experimental Short

A clearing, a ritual, a man alone among trees. He calls — and something answers.

Shot on Super 16 mm and edited on a flatbed, The Circle of the Forest Folk moves like a dream that remembers the body: grain, breath, flicker, gesture.

The forest responds with its own language. Figures appear, vanish, return — half human, half light. The man must prove himself to the spirits of the woods, facing an ordeal that is part dance, part invocation, part surrender.

A brief vision of connection and disquiet — a circle that opens just long enough to be entered.

Switching Selves – Eine Ausstellung und Performance von Boni Joi, Tobi Joi, Liliane Bürli und Bujar Berisha

Switching Selves – An exhibition and performance by Boni Joi, Tobi Joi, Liliane Bürli and Bujar Berisha

Switching Selves explores how language transforms identity, sound, and space. Poet Boni Joi moves between English, Swiss German, French, Spanish, and Italian — her voice bent, looped, and layered live by Tobi Joi into shifting soundscapes where words begin to tremble, overlap, and dissolve.

Liliane Bürli brings this movement into clay: her flat, spiral sculptures – “Sprachfossilien” or “language fossils” – hold silent traces of voice, breath, and gesture. What disappears in sound remains in matter: the fossilized residue of speech.
Bujar Berisha adds photographs of nature and architecture, creating visual spaces where languages collide, echo, and fade.

Together they form a sensory and poetic topography of translation and transformation — a space between polyphony and memory, between body and language, between speech and silence.

An exhibition with live performance at BOLSOM, where language becomes visible, audible, and tangible.

Demokratische Bodenkunde – Thesen zur zivilen Gesellschaft von Raphael Meyer mit Geri von den DANACHRICHTEN

Democratic Soil Science – Theses on Civil Society by Raphael Meyer with Geri from the DANACHRICHTEN

Philosoph, Denker, Quartiermensch: Raphael Meyer erforscht, was Demokratie unter unseren Füssen trägt.

Philosopher, thinker, neighbourhood human: Raphael Meyer explores what democracy actually stands on.
His Democratic Soil Science is less about constitutions and elections than about what grows in between – trust, humour, patience, contradiction, and the quiet art of coexistence.

As head of the Sentitreff in Lucerne and former philosophy researcher at ETH Zurich, Meyer brings theory down to street level: where ideas meet everyday life, and where civic society starts with coffee, laughter, and small acts of care.

In the second half he is joined by Geri from the DANACHRICHTEN – reporting from the past, the future, or sometimes the present. Together they dig deeper: How much ground does a civil society need? Who keeps it loose, who tramples it down? And what happens when thinking begins to bloom?

An evening between lecture, dialogue, and a bit of fertile humus.

SORGENTI – CAFÈ MISTICO

Zwischen Ritual und Spiel, Cafè Mistico ist eine intime Spoken Word Performance von Pietro Fadda und Pietro Floris

Between ritual and play, Cafè Mistico is an intimate spoken word performance by Pietro Fadda and Pietro Floris

Two masked figures, two voices, a space between ritual and play. The duo SORGENTI, formed by Pietro Fadda and Pietro Floris, shapes sound, language, and movement into a whispering, immersive experience. Their performance is a small, esoteric celebration – half ceremony, half seduction. Verses appear, dissolve, become rhythm, sound, suggestion. A celebration of anticipation, of the in-between, of the inexplicable.

An appearance in the underground of the everyday – quiet, dark, strangely close.

Wo sich Stimmen finden – mehr als eine Handvoll Zentralschweizer Musik-Prominenz wagt es sich live zu begegnen: Armin Wallimann, Cédric Küng, Dani Wallimann, Manuel Bienz, Manuela Abegg, Nuno Wallimann, Philipp Widmer, Sämi Zumstein und Tobi Gmür

Where Voices Meet – More than a handful of Central Swiss music personalities dare to meet live:
Armin Wallimann, Cédric Küng, Dani Wallimann, Manuel Bienz, Manuela Abegg, Nuno Wallimann, Philipp Widmer, Sämi Zumstein, and Tobi Gmür.

Mal zart, mal wild, mal ganz still.

Dani Wallimann – Klarinette, Komposition, Obwalden.
Leitet die Ländlerformation Siidhang, spielt Eigenkompositionen zwischen Tradition und Gegenwart. 2024 veröffentlichte er die Neuinterpretation Obwald.

Where Voices Meet – Wallimann, Gmür & Guests

Sometimes music doesn’t come from planning, but from encounter. A coincidence, a conversation, a shared note – and suddenly, the sound kitchen of Central Switzerland begins to simmer.

Dani Wallimann and Tobi Gmür have known each other for years as key figures of the regional music scene. Wallimann – clarinettist, composer, inventor of new forms of Ländler. Gmür – songwriter, singer, guitarist, once frontman of Mothers Pride and now known for his honest, timeless songs in Swiss German.

For BOLSOM 2025, the two invite more companions to join them: the Alpnach-based accordionist Sämi Zumstein, the versatile musician Armin Wallimann – head of the project Lopper – and five voices from red lily, the young Obwalden formation that drifts somewhere between pop, soul, and the sounds of nature.

Together they create new mixtures: Ländler meets pop, sound meets improvisation, dialect meets experiment. At times tender, at times wild, at times completely still. Who plays with whom and when remains open – some things may only be decided in the very moment.

What’s certain is this: it will be music that finds itself. Not sought – but happening.

Dani Wallimann – Clarinet, Composition, Obwalden.
Leader of the Siidhang ensemble, known for original compositions blending tradition and contemporaneity. In 2024 he released Obwald, a new interpretation of the Obwaldner song.

Tobi Gmür – Singer, Guitarist, Producer, Lucerne.
Famous as the frontman of Mothers Pride, now performing and producing distinctive songs in Swiss German.

Sämi Zumstein – Accordion, Bass, Alpnach.
A young virtuoso of the Swiss folk scene, released the album Sunntigsgfühl (2024) featuring 22 original compositions.

Armin Wallimann – Guitar, Concept, Visuals.
Head of LOPPER, a project merging music, film, and stage into a single artistic experience.

red lily – Obwalden.
A usually six-piece band, at BOLSOM with Cédric Küng, Manuel Bienz, Manuela Abegg, Nuno Wallimann und Philipp Widmer. Founded in 2019, known for their versatile sound between pop, soul, and folk.

Iris Suiker – Worte unterwegs

Iris Suiker

Iris Suiker – Words on the Move

1999, lives and works in Delft, the Netherlands and moves between social work, writing, and travel.

After studying Social Work at the University of Applied Sciences The Hague, she now works with young adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. These encounters shape her perspective – on closeness, language, responsibility, and the many forms of everyday life that coexist at once.

Alongside her work, Iris writes – about paths, people, and the subtle signs that appear when one looks closely. On her blog mytravelstories.info she shares experiences that reach beyond anecdote: stories with depth, spirituality, and the search for meaning in movement.

Art and music accompany her like familiar travel companions. She visits exhibitions, listens through soundscapes, paints and dances – not to possess, but to connect. In everything she does, there is an openness to encounter: in a café in Delft, in an atelier, or along a mountain road somewhere in the South.

For BOLSOM, Iris accompanies the festival and its participants through words and observation. She watches, listens, asks, keeps writing – documenting processes not as facts, but as living moments: spaces between work, conversation, and silence. Her texts hold on to what happens in the act of doing – and to what remains once everything dissolves again.

A gaze that listens. A writing that feels. A document that breathes.

we’d be happy to meet you here
